My Story

From Living in the Clouds to Building with the Cloud

I grew up in Nuwara Eliya, a laid-back town nestled in the central hills of Sri Lanka, surrounded by lush tea estates and the warmth of its people. Much like the ships that once carried my Malayaga Tamil ancestors to this land, and the globetrotting tea from our hills, nurtured by their descendants, I’ve always been drawn to learning and exploring the world, its movements, its stories, and the mysteries it holds.

This curiuosity took me on adventures all over, from earning a masters in technology policy at Cambridge, a masters in social policy at LSE, along with a bachelor's in electronics and communication engineering, and then working several years in tech, strategy and global affairs across four continents. Through these experiences I began to see firsthand AI's profound power to reimagine the fabric of civilization and what it means to be human.

Connecting the dots between people, places and technology to tackle complex global problems has always been a passion. After relocating to Canada, I founded Civiquant, turning that passion into impact.
